Electric stimulation in neuroprotesis. We aim to understand the biophysical
basis of the electric stimulation used in bioprotesis. To that end, we will
apply membrane models (integrate-and-fire, cable equation, Hodgkin-Huxley model) and probabilistic models (renewal processes, stochastic pulse trains), that include nonlinear and stochastic terms, the latter describing fluctuations of ion channels in the neuronal membrane. These models also allow the introduction of terms that describe the adaptation process, and are applied to a wide variety of systems in computational neuroscience.
